Superb Longcase , known as a Drumhead, with round face and hood, Mahogany, inlaid with Ebony, Ivory Escutcheon, indicates c1820, reeded columns on hood and body, tiny bun feet and turned Mahogany finials, Total height is 89.5 inches, without finials 7 feet [84]

In 2020 author Heather Upfield published a book "Timepiece" about 300 years of clock making in Kilwinning , N.Ayrshire, James Blair in this case was 1781-1850, bags of provenance for this Maker,
