About

"When Antique things are also country things, they are easier to write about, for there is permanence, continuity in country life which makes the lapse of centuries seem of little moment:"

Mary Webb,  May 1924

Giles Pearson:

Born into a rural farming, East Anglian background,  He migrated north to the highlands in 1975, joining the forestry commission, planting trees over in Ardnamurchan on the west coast.

The love of the Highlands was overwhelming and in Strathspey in 1980 met a lady , Vivienne,  who taught me how to cane and rush seats.

Spiritually, the connection working with natural materials was immediate and evolved into setting up a business in 1987.

Since then Giles has restored or renovated furniture for numerous private estate around the Highlands and the central belt. Including  Scone Palace in Perth. He has been a consultant and conservator for National Trust Castles and houses throughout Aberdeenshire.

In 1999 he opened a shop at Logie Steading where he successfully runs an antique country furniture showroom whilst continuing with restoration work.
